Ahead of the UK General Election 2015, Sixth Form Politics students took part in a mock election to raise awareness of the importance of voting and political participation. It was their job to develop campaign materials, take part in Question Time debates and to canvass for votes across the school. Five political parties were represented in the election, and to replicate the actual voting system used in UK general elections, the whole school was divided into constituencies, with the party that gained the most constituencies emerging victorious. The day of the election was hugely successful and over 1400 people in the school community- both students and staff- cast a vote for the party of their choice, with the Labour Party candidates winning an overall majority of the constituencies. You can look at some of the photos from the day of the election here.
